during my stay, I loved how easy it was to walk to the night market and Mount Phousi, just a short stroll away, making it perfect for my city explorations while enjoying serene river views for breakfast on the terrace.

The room felt dated with minimal storage space, and I experienced freezing conditions with non-functional air conditioning. Breakfast was served outdoors, making it uncomfortable during colder weather, with most food items unappetizingly cold. The coffee was terrible, and there was no afternoon service on the patio to enjoy the view.

We had a terrible experience with room temperatures. both rooms we tried had ineffective heating, and our stay was just miserable as we couldn't get warm. The breakfast was also extremely disappointing—a cold buffet with indifferent staff, and I certainly expected much better considering the prices they charge. To top it off, I booked a minibus through the hotel, and it was a nightmare with overcrowded conditions and constant unannounced stops. Absolutely not worth the hassle!

The location is fantastic, as it’s just a short walk to the night market and several cultural sites.

The experience at Merry Riverside was predominantly positive, especially regarding the deluxe double room river view which provided a stunning perspective of the river. The breakfast was exceptional, served on the terrace right by the water, enhancing the morning ambiance. Overall, the cozy room design and spaciousness made for a comfortable stay, particularly after enjoying breakfast while taking in the views.

One area of concern was the evening staff's inconsistency in communication regarding tour bookings.

I stayed in the Standard Double Room, and it was surprisingly spacious and cozy. The decor had a nice Lao touch, which made it feel authentic. Plus, the bathroom was roomy and designed well. I loved having the chance to upgrade to a Riverside room for my last few days—the view was fantastic. Overall, very comfortable!

The room had a lovely balcony with a river view and the breakfast served on the terrace was delightful with fresh fruit, warm and cold options. Staff was friendly and available for assistance.
